Travel Tips Avoid Philippine Airlines Paid WiFi

When I read that Philippine Airlines was offering a Wi-Fi Service. I thought it was going to be high speed and provided for free. It definitley sounded like something to pass away a long boring flight. However seeing their promotional advert. I read this on Facebook and would now avoid the plan.

"Great news, TravelPALs! Our FREE Wi-Fi onboard for 30 minutes or 15mb is here to stay! And if you want to surf longer, you can now avail of our more affordable upgrade plans at 50% off! Choose from our Basic Plan at USD $5 for 1 hour or up to 35mb, or USD $20 to keep you connected for the entire flight or up to 150mb.

*Available on select international flights.

ASC No. P096P081517P"

For a start its charging quite a high amount. 30 minutes or 15MB is free. But what can you do for 15MB. Its not even the size of a video on Youtube. $5 for 35MB is like $1 for 7MB or $20 for 150MB is like $1 for 7.5MB.

Wow reading this comment. I calculated this at 0.2 kbps a second. They really do bring the crappy slow land Philippines internet service outside of the Philippines.

Reading how Philippine Airlines responds with the same generic message, and does not offer to refund customers. Shows extremely poor customer service.

Their were also several complaints of people unable to even collect and no mention of any refund at all on the part of Philippine Airlines. Despite having frequent delayed flights.
